African bracelets made by the Bozo women from Mali. The bracelets provide a stable source of income for the Bozo women and reduce plastic waste.
These colorful flipflop bracelets are made by the Bozo women from Mali. The flip flops are selected by color and cut into pieces. The pieces are strung on an awl and thus melted. With a quick movement, the molten mass is rotated around another awl. The double color is created when the first color is rotated over the second molten color. When the plastic has dried, it is slid off the awl, the ends are melted with a hot knife to stick them together.
The bracelets provide a stable source of income for the Bozo women and reduce plastic waste. A project that we at Nic&Mic are happy to support.
